Summary | | |
Drug-induced lichen planus typically occurs after a few weeks or months of initiation of suspected drugs. This is usually distributed in generalized or photo distributed area in a symmetric manner. Morphologically, it appears as violaceous scaly or eczematous plaques that subside with postinflammatory pigmentation upon drug discontinuation. Unlike maculopapular drug rashes, it resolves slowly after dechallenge and may have chronic remitting course. Application of standard criteria for ADR diagnosis in addition to some specific clinical and histologic features can help in correct diagnosis of drug induced LP.
